A place of living memory<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the heart of Gattatico, in the Italian region of Reggio Emilia, stands the Cervi Museum<\/strong>, opened in 1960 in the former farmhouse of the seven Cervi brothers. There the family gave refuge to those persecuted by fascism until, in 1943, they were captured and shot. Today, the museum holds documents, photographs and objects that tell both the story of the anti-fascist resistance and of early 20th-century agricultural life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The space is at once a tribute to courage and a reminder of peasant life. Within its walls it preserves the memory of a hard era, but also the warmth of Italian rural culture. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Architecture and materials in the service of history<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The renovation project was conceived with a clear objective: to respect the authenticity of the place<\/strong> and, at the same time, to give it an atmosphere consistent with the memory it safeguards. For this, a material with deep historical roots was chosen: natural clay<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dividing walls of the exhibition<\/strong> were built with ClayTec solutions that not only convey the aesthetics of another era, but also ensure a healthy and sustainable indoor space. The choice of this building system made it possible to unite tradition, durability and contemporary design. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The intervention was carried out in several phases, combining traditional techniques and innovative materials: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Silicate fixative<\/strong> \u2192 applied first to stabilize and consolidate the existing sandy substrate. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
      \n
    • Robust base:<\/strong> Mineral 20 clay plaster<\/em> over Reed mesh 70ST<\/strong>, a lattice reminiscent of peasant building solutions that provides great solidity. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
        \n
      • Uniform reinforcement:<\/strong> a layer of Fine clay finish plaster 06<\/em>, easy to work thanks to its fine grain, applied together with the Jute mesh<\/strong>, a natural and ecological reinforcement that ensures the stability of the surface. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        • Design finish:<\/strong> the YOSIMA clay coating<\/em>, applied in several colours and with different techniques. On some walls a smooth, uniform finish was achieved, while on others greater texture and chromatic depth were sought. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          • Exposed texture:<\/strong> in certain spaces the Mineral 20 plaster<\/em> was left exposed, with its rough finish, to reinforce the sense of authenticity and aesthetic variety. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            An aesthetic in dialogue with memory<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

            The natural materials allow the visitor not only to see, but also to feel<\/strong> the history. The roughness of certain surfaces recalls the force of agricultural work, while the smooth YOSIMA finishes evoke serenity and continuity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Colour also plays a fundamental role: the intense, deep tones of the clay lend a sober and elegant character, while the variations in texture create dynamism along the route. In this way, each wall contributes to telling the story of the place, with an architectural language that connects past and present. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Technical and environmental benefits<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            The use of clay goes beyond the aesthetic: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
