It is composed of tiny platelet-shaped particles that, when mixed with water, slide over each other, becoming plastic. When water evaporates, the platelets attract each other, creating a natural resistance sufficient for many applications in construction.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A large part of the construction materials used each year are used for this purpose, especially in <strong>new construction, renovations and modernizations<\/strong>, which is known as <em>construction in existing structures<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Indoors, <strong>clay building materials<\/strong> are used in the form of bricks, mortars, base and finishing plasters, as well as clay panels. All of them are regulated by modern <strong>DIN standards<\/strong>. Other relevant uses are decorative coatings and plasters.<br\/>In addition, <strong>load-bearing construction<\/strong> with clay is gaining momentum: the new <strong>DIN 18940 standard<\/strong> regulates the use of load-bearing earth blocks for buildings up to <strong>13 meters high (four floors).<\/strong>  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. Availability<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Building material = raw material<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Clay is an <strong>almost inexhaustible raw material<\/strong>, naturally present in the soil.
