Salon de Cook: futuristic design and natural clay in the heart of Seoul

The good lies in the nature of things

In the elegant Gangnam district, in Seoul, a space emerges that goes beyond cooking and eating: Salon de Cook. This place combines cooking courses and private gastronomic events with a unique architectural setting, where community, design and natural materials come together.

Here, seasonal ingredients and care for quality are reflected not only in the dishes, but also in the walls that host each experience. The choice of clay as a building material reinforces the project’s philosophy: the essential and the authentic lie in the nature of things.

Modern salon architecture for a new culture

Inspired by the concept of the classic salon as a space for innovation and debate, Salon de Cook reinterprets that tradition in a contemporary key. It is not about poetry or politics, but about cooking and shared enjoyment around a table.

The interior design opts for a futuristic feel: rounded corners, backlit ceilings, fireplaces and mirrors that emerge sculpturally from the walls. Glass, steel and polished natural stone combine in an elegant setting that, far from being cold, finds balance thanks to the use of natural materials.

YOSIMA: clay design for high-quality interiors

The distinctive element of Salon de Cook is its ClayTec YOSIMA clay design coating, applied in the Kolumba grey tone. This finish provides a sensual, high-quality surface, able to harmonize with materials such as stainless steel and glass.

The metal strips embedded in the clay reinforce the modern look, while the plasticity of the plaster made it possible to shape curved corners and integrate distinctive architectural elements. With its range of 146 natural colours, YOSIMA demonstrates its versatility in cutting-edge interior-design projects.

Beyond its aesthetic impact, clay contributes to the health of the indoor environment, regulating humidity and improving comfort in spaces where many people cook and gather.

A culinary experience tied to the season

In parallel with the architectural design, the gastronomic offering of Salon de Cook focuses on seasonal products. Each month a main ingredient is selected which, combined with others, is transformed into dishes that celebrate flavour at its optimal point of ripeness. Thus, cooking and architecture meet in the same philosophy of respect for the natural.

Clay and design as a contemporary language

Salon de Cook shows how clay can also be the protagonist in contexts of high urban gastronomy. In this project, YOSIMA provides not only beauty and comfort, but also a balance between material tradition and futuristic language.

At RedVerde, together with ClayTec, we work to bring bioconstruction to the heart of residential and commercial projects, proving that clay is synonymous with innovation, health and design.
