Jute Mesh 1 x 50 m. (50 m2) 110 gr./m2. Light: 4.5x4.5 mm.

Application: As a surface reinforcement for clay plasters on solid interior construction substrates. It is not applied on building clay decking or cladding or HFA boards, or on HFD interior insulation boards.

Composition: Jute yarn fabric, coated with starch. Warp/weft approx. 2 1/20 fibres per 10 cm, mesh size approx. 4.5 x 4.5 mm.

Presentation: In rolls. Surface reinforcement, width 100 cm/length 50 m.

Storage: It can be stored for at least three years if kept in a dry, well-ventilated place protected from direct sunlight.

Quantity needed: Surface reinforcement equal to m² of clay surface, plus an additional 10-20% for scraps and overlaps.

Processing:

Surface reinforcement: The reinforcement mesh is placed over the mortar when it is still freshly applied and malleable. It is then smoothed with a straightening board.

An overlap of approximately 10 cm should be left in the areas around the joints.

Joint reinforcement: The mesh is fixed with a thin layer of clay; If possible, rub the mortar so that the joint area is not visible through the plaster. Leave the reinforcement mesh out in the areas around the crossings. The clay mortar used to install the mesh must be completely dry before continuing with plastering. (Reinforcing panel joints alone is no longer a common technique and requires expertise to execute correctly.)
