Used for:

Osmo Colorless Finishing Oil is an extremely versatile wood finish with many possible applications on exterior woods. Osmo Colorless Finishing Oil is ideal as a base coat for applications on softwoods and conifers. In particular, on saw-cut, grayed, or weathered surfaces, to even out the different degrees of roughness in the wood. Osmo Colorless Finishing Oil is also ideal as a slightly glossy finish over HSPlus Monocoat Stain or Field Paint when a slightly glossy, low-maintenance surface is desired: doors, windows, shutters (permanent joinery), sheds, facades, balustrades, fences, pergolas, or summer cottages (non-permanent joinery). It is also suitable as a binder (enamel) in special applications where a custom color is required, mixed with powder or liquid pigments for oil-based finishes.

Storage:

Up to 5 years and longer if the can is stored in a dry place and tightly sealed. If it solidifies due to cold, store for 24-36 hours at room temperature before use.

Surface Preparation:

The wood surface must be clean, dry, and frost-free (maximum moisture content 20%). Grayed or weathered surfaces must be cleaned and renewed with Osmo Power Gel Revitalizer; at least dirt and loose fibers must be removed. Osmo Colorless Finishing Oil is ready to use. Do not dilute. Shake well before use. If possible, a base coat should be applied to all surfaces before installation. Old microporous finishes must be cleaned. Old paints and varnishes must be completely removed. Therefore, a preliminary test is always required, especially on unfamiliar surfaces. For added protection against blue stain, rot, and insects, pre-treat all surfaces with Osmo WR Primer.
