The microporous surface allows the wood to breathe and reduces swelling and shrinkage. The water-repellent surface will not crack, peel, flake or swell.
As a finishing layer on an already pigmented wood, Osmo Extra UV Protection Oil significantly lengthens renewal intervals.
As a single-application product, it prevents the graying process on vertical surfaces with a UV protection factor of 12, compared to untreated wood, if two coats are applied.
The finish contains active ingredients that prevent the attack of molds, algae and fungi. The renovation is simple, without sanding. Easy and hassle-free application. The finish can be reviewed while it is being applied.

Osmo UV Protection Oil is ideal for all types of vertical outdoor surfaces: doors, windows and shutters (permanent construction elements), porches, façade cladding, balconies, fences, pergolas and summer cabins (mobile construction elements). It is also suitable for bamboo poles (e.g. in lattices).
Storage:
Up to 5 years and more if the can is stored in a dry and hermetically sealed place. If it solidifies from the cold, store for 24-36 hours at room temperature, before use.
Surface preparation:
The surface of the wood must be clean, dry and frost-free (maximum moisture content 20%). Osmo Extra UV Protection Oil is ready to use: do not dilute. Shake well before use. Clean old microporous treatments meticulously. Old paints or varnishes should be completely removed. As a general rule, wear a dust mask while sanding. Do not sand smooth surfaces with a grit greater than P120. If possible, apply an initial coat to all faces before installation. New extract-rich and exuded woods need to be weathered for approximately 6 weeks after installation. In this way, the wood becomes more absorbent and the finish adheres optimally. A base coat of coloured oil, such as HS Single Coat Coat, Oil Coat or Osmo Campaign Paint, is recommended. For renovation, clean old microporous finishes carefully. Greyed or weathered wood should be reconditioned and cleaned beforehand with Osmo Power Wood Reviving Gel. The surface finish depends on several factors, including the natural characteristics of each wood. Therefore, you should perform a pre-test, especially on surfaces that are unfamiliar to you.
