Used for:

Osmo UV Protection Oil is ideal for all types of vertical exterior surfaces: doors, windows and shutters (permanent building elements), porches, facade cladding, balconies, fences, pergolas and summer cottages (movable building elements). It is also suitable for bamboo posts (e.g., in trellises).

Storage:

Up to 5 years and longer if the can is stored in a dry place and tightly sealed. If it solidifies due to cold, store for 24-36 hours at room temperature before use.

Surface Preparation:

The wood surface must be clean, dry, and frost-free (maximum moisture content 20%). Osmo Extra UV Protection Oil is ready to use: do not dilute. Shake well before use. Thoroughly clean away any old microporous treatments. Old paints or varnishes must be completely removed. As a general rule, wear a dust mask while sanding. Do not sand smooth surfaces with a grit finer than P120. If possible, apply a primer to all surfaces before installation. New wood rich in extracts and exudates needs approximately 6 weeks of weathering after installation. This makes the wood more absorbent and allows the finish to adhere optimally. A colored oil-based primer, such as Lasur Monocapa HS, Lasur al Aceite, or Pintura de Campaña Osmo, is recommended. For renovations, carefully clean old microporous finishes. Grayed or weathered wood should be pre-treated and cleaned with Osmo Power Gel Wood Revitalizer. The surface finish depends on several factors, including the natural characteristics of each type of wood. Therefore, you should carry out a test beforehand, especially on unfamiliar surfaces.
