Clay and straw base mortar

APPLICATION: The mortar is applied with a trowel, spread, or sprayed using a mortar spraying machine. The minimum and maximum application thicknesses are usually 8 and 15 mm, respectively, depending on the surface, although up to 35 mm is possible. On concrete or masonry, only 10 mm is required; on extruded clay block masonry, only 6 mm per layer. The mortar consistency should be adapted to the layer thickness. The application of YOSIMA clay design plasters requires a well-sanded and flat surface (special additional work step) or a thin layer of fine clay finishing plaster 06. COVERAGE:Dry 10,110 in 25 kg bags (equivalent to 16.7 l of mortar, 1.1 m² of surface with D = 1.5 cm. Approx. 1.50 kg/m² per mm of thickness), 48 bags/pallet. DRYING TIME:After application, rapid drying should be ensured, for example, by cross-ventilation (all windows and doors open 24 hours a day). Under critical conditions, drying time should be recorded according to DIN 18550-2; for further details, please refer to this standard or the ClayTec "Clay Plasters Worksheet". The basic microbial load of natural moisture products 05.001 and 05.201 is subject to constant monitoring; compliance with specific values cannot be guaranteed. WORKING SAMPLE: The suitability of the substrate and the layer thickness must be checked in all cases using a sufficiently large working sample. MATERIAL VALUES: Drying shrinkage: 3%. The wet clay-based mortar should be used no later than 3 months after its manufacture; the dry material can be stored indefinitely. The wet material must be stored in winter protected from frost, as otherwise its workability is affected by freezing temperatures. COMPOSITION: Natural building clay up to 5 mm, washed mixed-grain sand 0-2 mm. Grain group, top grain size according to DIN 0/4, <8 mm. Barley straw fibers up to 30 mm.
