Red clay primer

Composition

Water, calcium carbonate, soluble glass, clay, dispersion < 5% (improvement of adhesion properties and application safety), titanium dioxide. Methyl cellulose, xanthan. Granulometry 0-1.8 mm

Application

The product is generously applied over the entire surface with a short hair roller or brush.

Performance

• 5 l pail, 56 cubes/pallet, liquid, for approx. 15 m2
• 10 l pail, 24 cubes/pallet, liquid, for approx. 30 m2

Drying Time

The next application is only possible after complete drying, at least

soon after 48 hours. Drying depends on temperature and humidity.

Exams and Tests

The suitability for use of the entire layer structure consisting of the application of primer and plaster should always be checked by means of a sufficiently large working sample. Thickness of application of the plaster on surfaces prepared with DIE ROTE primer up to max. 10 mm. On dry partition boards, usually only topcoats of CLAYTEC clay or design plaster of YOSIMA clay with a thickness of max. 3 mm are applied. Cover glass and ceramic surfaces and protect them from splashes.

Why use red primer?

1. Improves adhesion, red primer creates a rough texture on smooth or non-absorbent surfaces (such as plaster, concrete or plasterboard). This allows the clay plasters to adhere firmly.
2. Stabilizes sandy or absorbent surfaces on highly absorbent surfaces such as antique plaster or natural stone, regulates absorption and prevents clay plaster from drying out too quickly, which could cause cracks or poor bonding
