Kreidezeit Safflower Wax is solvent-free and has low yellowing potential. This low-yellowing treatment, combining thistle oil and beeswax, is ideal for lightly worn wooden surfaces, especially furniture, doors, beams, paneling, and as a topcoat over wood surfaces treated with casein paint, chalk paint, and tempera paint. It creates a wonderful matte, velvety finish. (PJ Vintage Style). Safflower wax accentuates the wood grain and gives the wood a silky, anti-static surface. It can be tinted with Kreidezeit Earth and mineral pigments as desired. Kreidezeit Safflower Wax is solvent- and water-free, composed exclusively of natural oils and waxes. It contains no "hidden" alkyd resins, which are derived, for example, from non-drying oils such as rapeseed, soybean, or sunflower oil. CHARACTERISTICS
APPLICATION Usually applied with a cloth. Large surfaces can also be painted. To do this, dilute the safflower wax in a 1:1 ratio with balsamic turpentine oil. Do not apply the safflower wax diluted with turpentine oil to surfaces treated with casein paints, chalk, or tempera, as this will damage the surface. Not suitable for floors, kitchen countertops, or outdoor use. Coverage: Depending on the substrate's absorption capacity, approximately 0.05–0.100 liters/m² per coat. Higher consumption is expected on highly absorbent woods. Drying and recoating at 20°C and 60% relative humidity after approximately 24 hours (or 48 hours on substrates containing tannins, oak, etc.). Cold substrates containing tannins considerably prolong the drying time. Fully cured after approximately 4 weeks. During use, handle with care and protect from water. STORAGE Stored in an airtight, frost-free container, the product has a shelf life of at least 2 years. COMPOSITION Safflower oil, chlorine-free bleached beeswax, settled tung oil, manganese-based drier. CAUTION Working materials impregnated with the product, such as cleaning cloths, sponges, sanding powders, and oil-impregnated polishing pads that are not completely dry, should be stored in an airtight metal container or in water. When applying these materials, care should be taken to prevent any oil from coming into contact with porous insulating materials, as this could lead to spontaneous combustion due to the vegetable oil content. The product itself is not self-igniting. Do not pour the product onto surfaces. Be aware of potential allergies to natural substances. Store out of reach of children.
